Rockin you up...and spookin you out. It's another chilling, thrilling soundtrack of bands that do more than just go bump in the night. They make your walls and you inner cranium go thump to the point of explosion and extreme slam dancing.
Cult underground Chicago Punk band Hotlips Messiah has been around over a decade, but has just released the most extensive album of their career,Disco Miscarriage. 46 tracks of a hard driving mixture of ultra fast Punk rock and spacy late 70s new wave. I talk to this bizarre, but very funny, high energy 4 piece band,as they rock all things human, and mutant,at Wire in Berwyn.
Black Road casts an extensive spell of grimy guitar riffs and medieval witch imagery on perhaps the longest single 45 record ever recorded (almost eleven minutes),and will scare up a rockin bash in downtown Joliet the weekend before Halloween. While just down the street in the Prison City,Extraction Point,Whut and a few other local metal bands unlock a fierce groove at the annual Prison City Halloween Massacre at The Forge.
Along with these, you'll be jumping out of your skin and your skeleton's bones are rattling and rocking to:
Hotlips Messiah-Theme From S.C.U.M
Hotlips Messiah-Scream Happy Screams
Lollygagger-Stone
Architects Of Ruin-Already Dead
Oblivion Zero-Death Of Me (with Joe Focht of Consume The Divide)
The Illogical-The World Is Dead
Psycho Sister-Skeleton
Liquid Signal-Black Masses
Black Road-Witch Of The Future
Extraction Point-Best Served Cold(with Holly Smith of Hot Dang)
