Swab your wax ridden ears...and rub your eyes. More original local metal, punk, power pop, prog  and alt rock from all over Chicagoland and Illinois will penetrate through all body cavities, cracks and crevices. 

We pay closer attention to Illinois than the greater Chicago area on this edition. Ciraxis is a metal trio from Effingham, near the far Southern Illinois/Indiana border. Clean singing in perfect harmony clashes with a rocket fast driving beat and gruff low throated vocal on their major label debut The Act And The Aftermath. Two blistering tunes from it.

Punk In The Bin will have Kankakee area music fans marching with their combat boots and too busy slam dancing to care who's slamming into each other on the football turf during Super Bowl weekend. Punk quartet The Freedom Paradox from Downers Grove will keep the sweat flying and blood pumping as one of five bands playing on the second of two nights.

Chicago noise punk trio Running lost their longtime drummer. We say hello, not goodbye, to them with a rare single from 2014.

We rock back nine and seven years ago this week, when a beast was unleashed, and a beauty unleashed her awesome singing power on Kat 105.5 listeners in the Joliet/Kankakee Southlands. Legions Of Raum are in studio with killer tracks from their just released second album The Great Beast Evolved.
