Fierce Atmospheres has been laying down an old school 80s style progressive metal sound since the early 90s. But in the last six years, the addition of Taran De Pablos' explosive lead vocals has led to a more effective sound for the power metal quintet. Guitarist and founder Eric Gosselin joins me with a sneak preview of their second album, The Speed Of Dreams, and the release show for  Saturday the 18th at Reggies.

Production studio wizard Steve Elderidge returns with Qualia. Their first EP,A Period Of Reflection was released over Labor Day Weekend with a show in West Chicago. A no nonsense cut off it, as the band now headlines at Cobra Lounge in October.

Veteran guitar shredder Tony Raygor was rewarded for his six string mastery eight years ago this week at Mayhem Fest. The celebration carried over to his birthday party at the former Bada Brew in Crest Hill. He joined me in the Kat 105.5 air studio, eight years ago this week to spoil all the surprising details.
