Fall back...not for the Chicagoland and Illinois local hard rock,metal,punk,alt-rock and prog scene. The season may turn colder, the original music is heating up,even sizzling.
Racing the Sun, from Elmwood Park, evokes the bluesy, and raunchy sound of the early to mid 70's, but with a modern grungy and progressive twist, on their new CD, L'habitat Naturel. I talk to singer Bill Carlson and bassist Randy Kertz as they get a beer soaked Saturday night crowd into a stone groove at Wire in Berwyn.
Carrie Morse whipped a moshing hardcore metal crowd into a frenzy as part of the all female band,Violet Kill. Now,she commands the spotlight as singer of Remorse Code. Black Road colors the new season blood red with a smoking new original doom rock tune from their new full length album,Witch of the Future. And Extraction Point will draw a few blood curtling screams out of you,as they play the Prison City Halloween Massacre in Joliet.
Along with these, you are rocked out of your human skin by:
Racing The Sun-Silver Streak
Racing The Sun-Dawn Surprise
Veilside-Crawl Back To You
Remorse Code-Machine
Violet Kill-Until The End
Plastic Crimewave Syndicate-Hell's Crown Boogie
