Sometimes it's the look,not just the sound that draws a band or artist to the music fan. In the case of Kankakee's Carrying Torches,it's not really the facial hair of the band members that's a distinguishing quality,although it helps when you play the annual event of beards and riffs,Mustache Fest in Joliet. That's where I caught up with the four piece band,promoting their second EP,Strangers with it's diverse mix of melodic rock & spacey synthesizers. I talk to the band about their songs from Elder Brewing in Joliet.

Chicago Stoner Rock/Doom Metal 4 piece band Black Road offers a groovy,smoky blast of rock with bloody,gory and deadly lyrical images. Local forgotten rock legends M & R Rush return again,keeping themselves in the Loop of the local  Chicagoland hard rock and Metal scene.Their new CD, Between the Lines get its official release with a big bash show in Midlothian. On the same night,Power Pop legend Cliff Johnson surpisingly gets his historic band Off Broadway back together,with original members from their first big period 1979-80.
