Call this edition of Local Loft a Thanksgiving Throwback. It's like Halloween never ended... Halloween Groundhog Day. The morbid but spacey images in the music of Radio Creeps. Their singer and founder Kryss K Reaper, looks the part of Marilyn Manson, but is not a copy. The band, also containing bassist Miss Morticia, slayed an agressive crowd of metalheads at Waterworks Tavern in Lyons, where I talked to them about their upcoming full length debut CD.
Along with Radio Creeps, more original Chicagoland & Illinois hard rock & metal crawls into your cerebellum & veins from:

Reunite,Rock,Repeat. It's an ongoing cycle that all bands and solo music acts in the Chicagoland hard rock & metal scene do over and over...some with a surprise outcome, where their fanbase learns to expect the unexpected.
I was in the right place at the right time,Cullins Pub in Oak Lawn to be an eye and earwitness to a reboot of In2TheInferno,the heavy alternative rock band that unleashed the gritty, grunting, yet intimate singing of Holly Smith, before she expanded her musical vision with Hot Dang. Yes, there was new music played. No, it's not going to turn into an extended period of her,Jeremy DiGangi,Chris Muffitt,& Matt Twardy playng together again. I talk to all 4 about why they wanted to rock in front of a crowd for the second time since putting the band on pause in late 2012.

I talk to this 5 piece band from Rockford, before they rock a rain soaked crowd at Evolution Music in Downers Grpve for a Labor D.ay Weekend bash.
At the end of this 66th excursion, you feel the fiery vocal growl of Holly Smith, surprisingly returning to her roots with In 2 The Inferno, in Oak Lawn for a second reunion gig since they went on an extended hiatus in 2012.

In cyberspace, many will hear you scream, and growl, and sing melodically. The airwaves are expansive. The ever growning and expanding local music scene from the greater Chicago area and State of illinois is on display, and the genres are limitless.
On LL #64,we gp from the extended free form Jazz and progressive rock of Sons of Ra,to the high fast adenaline rush Punk of Prison City Brigade. Sons of Ra was first formed 17 years ago by guitarist Erik Oldman. From a colorful, psychedelic art and music show at The Outtaspace in Berwyn, I interview Eric & bassist Keith Wakefield about their unique mixture of Jazz,Progressive, and hard rock, showcased on their debut EP,Anthropology. It's light years ahead of Beneath the Stares, the funky heavy alt-rock band Erik was guitarist for in 2012.
It's onto Joliet, for a homeless childrean benefit show at The Forge. The musical atmosphere gets way more agressive and brain crushing with Prison City Brigade. In a city known for it's dominating local Metal scene,PCB are a straight up Punk band. I talk to singer Eddie Cavanaugh, two former members of one of Joliet's biggest hardcore Metal bands,Orinoco, and the rest of PCB about the politcally, and angry influenced lyrics and music of their debut EP,War on Boredom.

The stories and music of the up and coming and estsblished bands and solo artists of the Chicagoland local hard rock and metal scene. No, it's not a rehash of Behind the Music, the music is above the drama and personal lives of the performers. and the center of focus in an ever expanding local music scene.

The band, first started in 2009 by Dan Hardman, went through a small reforming in May with Dan as lead singer. He has rejoined his current band,Consume the Divide.
