No matter how far away you roam,there's no place like the state of Illinois in giving the gift of music for the holidays. I come bearing new,original local tuneage that can't wait till xmas to rock every crevice of your being.  It's music rich in melody,harmony & groove. And sometimes music that originates in foreign lands before calling Chicago its home.
 
The power rock & metal band Road's End is very Active Rock radio friendly,& doesn't speak in toungues, despite the fact that several members came from Poland. Bassist Novy,& drummer Tomasz come from the land of the polka. You'll most likely be slam dancing to their new single, The Descent. I talk to all 5 members before they made their debut srage gig at Wire in Berwyn where massive dunpings of snow outside couldn't keep the fans away.

The musical forcast calls for a heavy accumulation of heavy intense,melodic & catchy metal melodies. Let the loud,high energy backbeat &  grooves plow through your ear hairs & brain tissue. 
 
We open with the intensly meoldic sounds of Sky Machine, A few players were once part of Delightful Downfall,Including Drummer Steve Eldridge & Guitarist Jordan Popp. They launched into a killer set of tunes that sent the audience at Wire in Berwyn into a moshing frenzy, I talk to all 5 members backstage after they opened for a reunited Actionblast.
 
Aurora based Jimi Falls will be as good as alive in opening for Local H on New Year's Eve in Mundelein,while prominent female singer Jeni Imparato (Phosphene) goes undercover,before her own band's triumphant return in February.

Testimoy kicks it off with a not totally flashback to the old school heyday of Thrash Metal pioneers Death,Metallica & Salyer. I talked with the Northwest Indiana band before they rocked at Reggies Rock Club,opening for Flotsam & Jetsam
 
Then the attention shifts to The Forms They Take. This 4 piece Chicago Metalcore band keeps it modern,espcially the screaming vocal delivery of Luco Columbo. I talked to them after blowing the roof of Underground Lounge,in the shadow of Wrigley Field.

"You radicals sure start young",especially rocking radicals. Those whose music can change the world,especially the world of Old School Thrash Metal. End of Anarchy is trying to reinvent the sound of early Metallica,Megadeth & others who revolutionized Metal in the early to late 80s. The band from New Lenox,fronted by Tommy Denniger sounds way older than their ages (all 17) would indicate. Age matters not,not here anyway. as Tommy & the band resurrect the Legendary sound that inspired many to come after it. I talk to all 4 members of EOA,after they rocked a packed crowd,opening for National act Blue Felix at Star Bar in Chicago Ridge.

Their biggest musical inspiratation wasn't Satanic worship, but a devilishly good 80s home video game. Singer Taran De Pablos,now fronts Hellbound Sons,Its a more bluesy & grungy metal band than his longtime thrash band,Skinwalker. As the month of Rocktober kicked off, both bands featuring Taran played at Wire. I talked to Taran & Hellbound Sons guitarist Rick Morrisey backstage.
