Tony Raygor,guitarist & founder of Joliet thrash band Deadman's Hand, has won awards for his awesome shredding. But there's much more to the band than just his soloing. Singer Dutch Devries provides a powerful hard hitting singing style. They just released their first full length CD,Decade Decayed. A new year means new music & a few surprise lineup changes. One of the biggest local rock acts, Phosphene comes roaring back with a new lineup. Jeni Imparato, who rocked the band ttrough a stellar year in 2015, with their breakthrough second self-titled a;bum. She & the band took much of 2016 off, but are back to rock with a vengeance. I get the scoop from Jeni herself on the new Phosphene, as she keeps her incerdible voice active with a new cover band,Chix,Pix,and Stix from Sullivan's Pub in Sithwest Suburban Midlothian.

No matter how far away you roam,there's no place like the state of Illinois in giving the gift of music for the holidays. I come bearing new,original local tuneage that can't wait till xmas to rock every crevice of your being.  It's music rich in melody,harmony & groove. The power rock & metal band Road's End is very Active Rock radio friendly,& doesn't speak in toungues, despite the fact that several members came from Poland. Bassist Novy,& drummer Tomasz come from the land of the polka. You'll most likely be slam dancing to their new single, The Descent. "You radicals sure start young",especially rocking radicals. Those whose music can change the world,especially the world of Old School Thrash Metal. End of Anarchy is trying to reinvent the sound of early Metallica,Megadeth & others who revolutionized Metal in the early to late 80s. The band from New Lenox,fronted by Tommy Denniger sounds way older than their ages (all 17) would indicate. Age matters not,not here anyway. as Tommy & the band resurrect the Legendary sound that inspired many to come after it.
